What is microdermabrasion?
The term microdermabrasion refers to an array of mechanical skin resurfacing/exfoliating procedures. This is usually accomplished by blasting crystals, sand, or other particles at the skin or using an abrasive tip. The diamond method uses a diamond-tipped wand to polish and resurface the skin combined with suction to remove the dead skin cells. The result is stimulation of blood circulation and revitalized collagen production, which promotes younger-looking skin.
What is SilkPeel© Diamond Microdermabrasion?
SilkPeel© uses new patented dermalinfusion technology which allows for simultaneous skin exfoliation and infusion of potent treatment-specific serums. A controlled vacuum pressure keeps skin stable within the hand-piece allowing the diamond abrasive tip to very consistently and evenly remove dead surface skin cells (the stratum corneum (outermost layer of the epidermis (skin)). SilkPeel Pro-Infusion solutions are simultaneously infused into the viable epidermis under pneumatic pressure.
What is SilkPeel© used to treat?
SilkPeel© is a popular treatment for a variety of common skin ailments including fine lines and wrinkles, sun damaged, rough skin, superficial scars, uneven skin tones, acne and acne scarring, and dry skin. Results may include a more even skin tone, fewer breakouts, diminished appearance of scars, refined skin pores, renewed elasticity, and a healthy glow.
What happens during treatment?
The procedure takes about 20 minutes and is performed by our highly-trained medical aesthetician. Patients experience little to no discomfort during a SilkPeel©.
What can I expect post-treatment?
SilkPeel© will leave your skin with a pinkish glow that lasts for about 30 minutes, after which skin simply looks healthy and refreshed. Crystal-free technology means that the risks of traditional microdermabrasion are avoided.
When will I see results?
Some patients will see a visible difference after their first treatment. More commonly though Silkpeel© requires 4-6 treatments spaced 1-2 weeks apart to get the most effective results (this is not a very strong treatment, the benefit being it has no downtime and can even be performed during your lunch break). You can apply moisturizer and makeup directly after your procedure.
